Sololearn

Sololearn is a great website for beginners with zero programming experience. Its learning style is like Duolingo, making it easy to learn with interactive lessons, with courses in various fields of computer science. They also have a mobile app version.

Khan Academy

Khan academy also offers a ton of free, beginner-friendly courses in different areas, not just in computer science. However they have a wide variety of great computer science courses with interactive lessons and applications.

SkillsBuild

IBM SkillsBuild for students  (ages 14-20 years old), offers free digital learning  on tech and professional skills, with courses on AI, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Quantum and more, with digital badges to showcase what you’ve learnt.

Semrush Academy

Semrush Academy offers free courses on AI, some of which come with free certificates.

Code.org

is a nonprofit organization focused on helping students of all ages, from elementary to high school, learn more about computer science and programming in a fun, approachable way, making it super beginner-friendly. It offers various resources like engaging videos, self-paced tutorials,  programming activities, and more. 

freeCodeCamp

freeCodeCamp is another highly recommended website, since they offer great courses that are essential for any software developer, as well as interactive lessons. They also come with free certificates

The Odin Project is a great beginner-friendly website for people who want to learn web development but don’t know where to start. It offers you a hands-on introduction to all of the essential tools you’ll need to build real, working websites.

Exercism

Exercism is a highly recommended website for programmers who want to learn a new language ( not recommended for absolute beginners ). It has over 70 different languages for you to choose from. It offers a variety of exercises on each language to help you enhance your skills and learn through trial and error. Some languages have a “Learning Mode” where the course focuses more on teaching you the language rather than exercises. Exercism also has a unique feature where you can get mentors to look at your code and advise you on how to write it better, for free!

Hack Club Workshops

Hack Club offers a variety of beginner-friendly workshops that don’t need any prior coding experience and can help you start and customize cool projects to showcase to your friends without needing to learn a full programming language.

Udacity has a wide variety of high quality courses in different branches of computer science. From beginner-friendly courses to advanced ones, its courses offer long-term and intensive courses as well as interactive workspaces to apply what you’ve learnt

Codecademy offers a range of free courses on ( mainly ) web development and AI. It’s beginner-friendly and interactive, with different projects and quizzes to help you improve your skills
